Taos' gallery row. Seven fine art galleries and specialty shops in a few short blocks east of the Plaza, the highest concentration of serious art in town outside Ledoux Street.
Named for the frontiersman whose own home sits nearby on Kit Carson Road, this short stretch east of the Plaza is where Taos' fine art trade concentrates. Contemporary and Western art, historic and working artists, and a handful of home goods and clothing shops sit alongside the galleries. It connects directly to the Plaza, an easy add-on to any downtown walk.
An independent contemporary gallery and working artist space led by painter Lysa Montwill. Color-rich paintings, including the House of the Cat series, are shown alongside mixed-media sculpture by Rafael Vega.
